About The Fix Bench
The Fix Bench publishes appliance troubleshooting guides for readers in the United States. The aim is narrow and practical: help you work out what is actually wrong with an appliance, what it will take to fix, and whether fixing it is worth doing.
Who runs this
The Fix Bench is written and edited by Doğukan Güler, who is responsible for everything published here. He is the founder of Premium Yazılım, a software company whose team is listed publicly — so the person behind this site can be checked rather than taken on trust.
We are not a repair company and we do not sell parts or service. Nothing on this site is written to sell you an appointment.
How these guides are put together
Every error code, component behaviour and diagnostic step here is sourced against primary documentation before it is published — manufacturer support articles and service documentation first, parts retailer technical listings second. Where a claim cannot be sourced, it is left out rather than softened into a maybe.
That sounds like a low bar. In this subject it is not. Working through the published material on any given fault turns up a striking amount of repeated guidance that is wrong for a large share of the appliances it is offered to — advice to check a heating element on dishwashers that do not have an exposed one, universal resistance values for parts that vary by model, fixes copied between forums for years without anyone checking the service documentation.
So two rules do most of the work here. We do not publish a part number derived from an error code rather than a model number, because manufacturers use different assemblies across model families. And we do not publish generic electrical test values, because a number from someone else's appliance gets a working part condemned or gets somebody probing a live circuit.
Where sources genuinely disagree — including, more often than you would expect, two pages published by the same manufacturer — we quote both and say so, rather than picking one and presenting it as settled. That disagreement is usually the most useful thing on the page.

What this site is not
These guides are not a substitute for a licensed technician, and they are written to say so at the point where that becomes true rather than in a footer. Appliances carry mains voltage; some carry gas, pressurised water, or refrigerant under pressure. Sealed refrigerant systems are federally regulated and are not a homeowner repair at all.
Where a diagnosis reaches that boundary, the guide says stop.
